Allene polymers, statistical copolymers of ethylene and
carbon monoxide, allene and ethylene have been obtained by using of Ziegler-Natta
or rhodium-containing catalysts. Physical and mechanical properties of
the materials obtained essentially depend on the structure of the polymers
and composites. High adhesive properties and reactivity of the allene polymers
and copolymers in the reactions of thermal and UV cross-linkage, hydrochlorination
and oxidation are due to vinylidene groups in the polymers chain. The composite
materials on the basis of ethylene/allene copolymers show high physicomechanical
properties. The ethylene/carbon monoxide copolymers exhibit more
high adhesivness and thermal stability as compared with polyethylene. Ethylene/carbon
monoxide copolymers of alternating structure have been synthesized by using
of original Pd-containing catalytic system. The typical degree of polymerization
was 700, and limiting viscosity number (LVN)-2 de/g. The copolymers with
LWN 3 de/g was also obtained. Properties of these novel polymer materials
are under investigation now.
